Most mortgage companies have it backwards.
They obsess over the borrower experience.
Training. Scripts. Processes. Quality control.
All focused on the client.
At MPIRE we flipped it.
The loan officer is our customer. Not the borrower... or the realtor.
The LO.
Our entire operation is built around one question: What do our loan officers need to win?
We call it "warriors need weapons."
You can have the best soldier in the world but if you give them a butter knife, they're gonna lose.
So we invest everything into arming our team.
Proprietary software they can't get anywhere else. AI tools that actually work instead of looking flashy. Support staff that answers at 9pm.
Operations run by former Disney employees who understand experience matters.
Our ops team treats loan officers like guests, not employees.
Because here's what we figured out:
If we take care of the LO first, they'll take care of their clients better than we ever could.
We can't control every borrower interaction.
But we can control whether our LO has the tools, support, and freedom to do their job right.
Give them the sharpest weapons and trust them to fight.
That's the bet we made when we started with 3 people.
Last week at our 4th annual Christmas party I looked around at all the people and couldn't believe how far we had come.
But that's what happens when you give your warriors weapons.
Best investment we ever made. ... See MoreSee Less

Took me way too long to figure out what loan officers actually care about.
I thought it was splits. Then I thought it was tech.
Then I thought it was culture and leadership and all that stuff we talk about at conferences.
And yeah those things matter.
But the thing that comes up more than anything else...
Their money.
Not the commission structure.
How their money is organized, tracked, and accessible to them at any moment.
Most brokerages run on some fancy Google Sheets with a bunch of formulas that kinda work until they dont.
And loan officers are sitting there doing mental math trying to figure out if their check is right.
Thats insane to me.
These people are closing millions of dollars in loans and they cant get a clear answer on what theyre getting paid next Friday.
So we built everything around transparency, accuracy, automation.
No guessing... or having to ask accounting to double check something... OR waiting until the 15th to find out you were shorted.
Its not the sexiest thing we've built.
But its probably the thing that makes people stay.
If your LOs have to chase down answers about their own money, thats a trust problem dressed up as an accounting problem. ... See MoreSee Less

Today is the best day of my life.
Nothing huge happened. I didn't hit some monster achievement. Nothing out of the ordinary.
I woke up. The sun was out. And there was money to be made.
Back in 2013 I was at my lowest.
First marriage just ended. Working at Bank of America in Connecticut. Corporate boiler room with fluorescent lights and phones ringing nonstop.
I barely recognized myself.
Then they moved my desk behind this guy named Eddie Vélez.
First impression?
"Who IS this dude?"
He was loud. Spoke English and Spanish at the same time. Laughed at his own jokes. Yelled across the room like the entire floor was his kitchen.
I hated it.
But every single morning Eddie walked in and shouted to no one in particular:
"It's the best day of my life! I woke up today, the sun is shining, and there's money to be made!"
I thought he was joking. He wasn't.
One morning I dumped all my problems on him. How much life sucked. How nothing went right. How I couldn't catch a break.
He turned around and said quietly:
"Hermano...you woke up today. That means you already won. The rest is up to you. You can't be grateful and depressed at the same time. Así es la vida."
He wasn't trying to be deep. He just believed it.
Over eight months Eddie became my best friend. I started repeating his line every morning. Something in me shifted.
Then one day I walked in actually smiling. Genuinely smiling. First time in a long time.
Eddie spun around in his chair, pointed at my face and said:
"Ayyyyy look at you...you're grateful."
I asked how he knew.
"Because you're smiling...and nobody smiles like that unless they finally see what they have."
He was right.
A few weeks later Eddie didn't show up to work. Christmas Eve.
He passed away. Heart attack. Fifty-one years old.
But everything he taught me about gratitude...about waking up and choosing how you see the world...it became part of who I am. It still shapes how I lead and how I built MPIRE.
That's why when I tell you today is the best day of my life...I mean it.
Not because everything is perfect.
Not because everything is easy.
But because I woke up today and Eddie taught me that's enough.
I'm grateful for the team we've built. For our loan officers who trust us with their careers. For the clients who trust us with one of the biggest decisions of their lives. For the culture we've created together.
My glass is half full of water and the rest is full of opportunity.
I can still hear Eddie's voice.
"It's the best day of my life...I woke up today, the sun is shining, and there is money to be made."
Happy Thanksgiving.
Here's to an attitude of gratitude. ... See MoreSee Less

Mpire has spent years building the kind of foundation loan officers only dream about... organized, efficient, powerful, and built for scale.
Now it’s time to grow. And growth starts with excellent leadership.
You will come to see we’re investing heavily in the people who will shape the next era of this company, and this industry. There was only one person I trusted to carry our vision of growth forward:
Amanda Callaghan
If you know Amanda, you already understand why this was the easiest hire I’ve ever made. Her work ethic, integrity, passion, and drive are unmatched. I spent years working with her as a client, and every time she showed up with excellence.
So when the opportunity came to bring her in to lead Growth at Mpire, it was a no-brainer.
Amanda brings a standard, and energy, you can’t teach. She is exactly the work ethic and culture we are looking for in our vision. Mpire is stronger with her here, and anyone who’s worked with her knows exactly why.
Welcome Amanda, Our new Director of Growth!
Welcome to the next evolution of Mpire. ... See MoreSee Less
